OVERVIEW
Our tour will start with a ride on the MARMARAY from European side to Asian side. Even though European side is more famous and popular Asian side also offers a lot to see and is an alternative taste to understand the big city. After getting off the subway you will walk through Üsküdar district and get a chance to see its mosques and complexes explained by your guide. Then you will see Kuzguncuk’s rows of colorful 19th-century wooden houses “to evoke a sense of old Istanbul. This small fishing village has a multiethnic minority history, home to Greeks, Jews, and Armenians.
Later we will be visiting the Beylerbeyi Palace Ottoman’s summer palace overlooking the Bosphorus from its Asian shore. Built on orders of the Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz (1861-1876), Beylerbeyi is a delightful, if ornate, imperial residence with a fountain in the main salon, the usual sumptuous chambers, Bohemian crystal chandeliers, Sèvres and Chinese vases, and pleasant gardens. It makes a delightful Bosphorus visit.
When we get to Kadıköy we will explore the historical harbor buildings of Kadıköy, narrow streets of famous fish market and plenty of varieties of local food. In the end maybe the most enjoyable activity will be the boat trip you will take as the sun goes down.
